Steroid pills for plantar fasciitis

I have just started noticing pain in my right foot in the . ‘mostly’ then a few days later(this .) I wake up with a blister on my left and moderate swelling. It’s painful however I can walk it just is VERY uncomfortable. The pain is mostly on the sides… Sometimes affecting more but only on the bottom. The ankle on the right was broke 19yrs ago and looks like a bump (not like the bottom) this is more taller yet smaller around. Only flares up when I’m standing up longer then usual or if I step down wrong. I don’t think it has a connection yet I wanted to make sure it was known. Thanks in advance.

I have had PMR for about 5 months which is developing slowly. I also am hoping to avoid steroids due to the side effects, and have been using Ibruprofen, which allows me to get on with my life. I am finding I need to gradually increase it - at the moment I am taking 400 mg in the morning and 200 mg in the evening, but am about to increase it to 400 mg at night, as sleep is becoming more uncomfortable. I am also using supplements such as Curcumin which has some positive findings about its effect on inflammation and vitamin B5 and vitamin d3. I am looking at diet too. I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has taken this route. How much Ibruprofen can be taken daily, how you are managing it. I wonder how Achingman is getting on.

I started with left ankle and knee pain just over a year ago which has eased off but now I have plantar faciitis in my left foot and I am noticing pain in my right hip . Your advice re plantar faciitis makes so much sense and its the first time in all my research that I have resonated with the cause and treatment. Stretching has just not worked. I’m up for strenghtening with picking things up with my toes. And also, my job has been far more stressful than I can handle for far too long and I as am aiming to take a month off after next week – I feel that I am now on the right track.
Thankyou for your advice – it makes so much sense – at last.

My past experience indicates that Dr. Phillips and Dr. Berlin are great pain management doctors. From my experience this time, it is easier to get an appointment with the Pope than it is to schedule and appointment with one of these doctors. I called this past Monday and was told that since I had not been there since 2013 I had to have a referral in order to get an appointment. After going to my family doctor and referral was sent, I called and tried to schedule an appointment. The lady that answered the phone said I need to hang up and dial "2" since I was a new patient. When I called back that lady that answered the phone said that I did not need a referral and scheduled my appointment after having to put me on hold 2-3 time for computer problems. Luckily I was able to get an appointment for July 18th.
